GATHER

It's been a long time since I've been able to take some time for myself. My move is finally finished and I feel like I can breathe again.

We were in our house for almost 30 years and it was a phenomenal task getting out of there. Talk about downsizing. Oy!

There's still unpacking to do and a full time job to get to, but at least I'm settled. Mind you, I've forgotten everything I've learned in my photography class and will have to start from the bottom again. Almost couldn't figure out how to post my photo on Instagram, that's how behind I am.

Took this shot on my tiny condo balcony for Kim Klassen's prompt called, Gather. I found these lovely acorns and leaves on one of our evening walks with little Clare. She's quite enjoying condo life and the role of city doggie. Funny, all that worry for nothing.

CORNFLOWER, CRANESBILL AND MAPLE WINGS

Took a little packing break for some flower love.
And Cornflowers I think, are one of my favourites.
I started playing with this one to use as a background page for the new website I'm working on.
 Japanese Maple, so pretty.
 So delicate.
And Cranes bill, what a sweet little plant.

Dogwood and Apple Trees.

I should be packing for the move, but I'm not. Instead I'm photographing my beautiful Dogwood tree that I will truly miss.
And my apple tree. Guess I'll be doing some walking around the city instead of walking around my yard. I hope my sweet pup, Clare likes the move. She's never lived anywhere but the suburbs. Although for a lab, she's not big on the outdoors. I think she has allergies and prefers to stay inside. She's constantly ringing the bell to come in, when I put her out. Silly old thing.

 Happy Day!

Mid Century Modern Design

I'm in love with Mid Century Modern design lately. I've been scrolling around on Pinterest and they're calling it furniture porn!

We're painting over at the condo this week and I'm so excited. We're getting closer. We have 9' ceilings, perfect for large art. I did this piece with a pallet knife and really loved how it turned out. It's brighter than it shows here, more pink and yellow but I wanted a subdued look for these edits.
I started looking around and found quite a bit of Mid Century stuff in my own house. It was spread all over the place so I didn't notice or appreciate it as much as when it's grouped together.
Like my lovely Chalet glass thingy that I've had for years.
I'm looking for a beautiful vintage Danish teak credenza. But for now this Ikea sideboard will have to do. I'm kicking myself because I just sold my 1959 console stereo thinking I couldn't take it with me. Oh well, I hope the couple who bought it, enjoy it.
Lovely pensive Clare. She's so pretty.
And a little bit chubby, like a seal.

MAGICAL WHITE ROSES

So loving the gorgeous light in this room.
Pretty rose plates that just I can't get enough of.
There's something completely wonderful about roses.
A simple rose can bring so much joy.
Happy day!

MOVING DAY

Adventures in Condo living.
Table for two, please.
No moving day is complete without a croissant breakfast and a strong coffee to wash it down.
Excuse me, but I'll have paint, hardwood floors and some violets to spruce up the joint.
Oh, and an actual table might be nice.
Although a crate works really well, too.
Mmm, delicious!
Happy days ahead.

GREEN GLASS BIRD

There wasn't a lot of sun today but at least it was bright enough to get these shots of my pretty green glass bird that I received as a gift many years ago and some junk store treasures.
Like this darling little Japanese bowl. Love.
The vases are new, couldn't resist the colour.
Then there's this sweet vintage teapot that jumped into my hands.
Little glass birdie, what do say? Ne'er a little chirp to come your way.
